User Comment Rodeo: One Very Stupid Internet Conspiracist (and Some Other Dummies)

This won't surprise anyone, but the internet is a proven haven for the undesirables of the world. More importantly, it is a place where legitimate discussion falls into disrepair - a great new arena where populism can continue to strangle the truth. The whole NeoPatriot Act debacle unfolding (as if it hadn't been reported on or a known factor since 2005) in the USA has brought out many of the stupidest users of comment systems. Firstly, since it's public record published on known narc/rat Google: surveillance culture is getting out of hand, it's shitty and regressive and will not solve the problem of terrorism. However I think I wrote about surveillance culture before, NSA agents will do the sifting and perhaps, if they're nice enough, will tell me where.

In any case what matters to me at this moment is not the potential erosion of a so-called democracy or the blatant transformation of North America into some kind of paranoid, military-industrial, authoritarian, police state, corporatist plutocracy. That's old news. You either know it's true or delude yourself with happy feelings of consequence-free freedoms that don't really exist. Society is pretty... well it's boned right now. However, it doesn't feel like that on the street. You can go out, get drunk, pick up drugs, protest the system. Generally you don't get beaten up too badly, and you don't disappear.

What matters to me at this moment is what the public at large is thinking. As usual, the public at large is making me want to side with the plutocrats, because the public at large has some really, really odiously stupid people in it who are maybe not capable of independent thought. I wonder is the public even taking this seriously? Are they all joking when they use the comment boards? Sometimes, a very special individual with a loose grip on reality will post some interpretation of events that absolutely wipe away accumulated feelings of unease and doom. Some people are so out of it that I can't get angry at them. It would be like getting angry at a special needs person. No, all I can do is laugh and wish I saw the world so naively... then I could stop worrying and start hating.

It goes without saying that this man (no woman ever would be quite so proud of being so stupid as to publicly assert it) is an overblown idiot. Ignoring the 2008 recession and the bail-out of the finance industry (aka 'upperclass americans') and the ultimate reasons for the decline of the middle class (somehow the middle class hasn't figured out the giant, decades-long joke that is still being played on them and their complacent sense of entitlement) this guy out and out imagines that the IRS, NSA and Obama Socialists are plotting against their own. People like 'NoMoMaggots' should... write books? Work in Hollywood? Their fantasyland version of reality is too good for politics.

I'm pretty disgusted, but whatever, it's a User Comment Rodeo and these never fail to reduce my sum-faith in humankind. Lets dig out a few more nuggets of wisdom for the road, shall we?
Oh, cool, a Reagan apologist, in his natural habitat: futile argument backed with willful ignorance. Kind of a bewildering argument to bring up. Reagan vs. J. Edgar Hoover: I think we know how it would play out.

I realize a lot of my readers are Americans/NSA Internet Sifter Mainframes so here's a little bit of Canadian Exceptionalism for you. It takes a real idiot in a country with a shitty government to point out another country's shitty government and feel superior or safe. Real Talk: North America is in a corporate death-spiral that will not end until the Comatose North American looks beyond profits at motives or means. But First: Canadian Real Estate is Overpriced and Overhyped! Canadians with a sickeningly sweet nationalistic sense of exceptionalism are the dumbest people in the world. They are the definition of 'provincial' in the old French sense. Americans: have patience with Canada, don't let these yahoos get to you - with your governments since Eisenhower this cannot be easy, but patience is clearly your strong suite.

This poster is also an exceptionalist. Except, dig this, this poster is super special because he or she 'took it on the chin' from his or her family about not having a Facebook account. Yeah, Facebook is slimy, but to be quite honest it's not the only eel in the pond. Or better yet: it's not the only hagfish in this feeding frenzy. This individual is really proud of the tiny step of disconnecting from Facebook, knows that surveillance culture is not new, but still can't resist feeling superior. I guess when it's just you and 'sheeple' the constant pressure of knowing anything at all must go to your head.

Yeah this decades old process is definitely entirely the work of the most recent President. And certainly there are not checks and balances made on the President, and surely his office cannot be influenced. Take a hint: nobody cares who does this. Obama is not the epicenter of this shit. This isn't an 'Audacity of Hope' thing, it's a 'Corporate-Political Nightmare Era' thing. Maybe you remember it from the 80s and 90s. Most people who follow the news have their minds blown so often they MUST be amnesiacs. I don't even know what to think anymore.

Great posting moniker, but unfortunately a conspiracist dorkly. Go forth and uncover the truth!

This super-apologist reminds me of everything that's fucked about this situation. It always comes down to a small-minded defensive posture of right vs. left. Meanwhile, in truth, both conservatives and liberals are despicable, democracy becomes this great front for fast food politics, and the populace get mentally unfit to understand what is happening to them. Like, buddy, it doesn't matter who is a liberal and who is a conservative. Both parties are shit. We should be evolving beyond the final refuge of the damned and weakminded - the political spectrum.

There was so much more. But I'm tired... so, so tired. Not alone could I do this. I'd need, I don't know, some kind of three letter goverment agency to help me out. I don't know why I do this. I think it's funny, but mostly it paints a bleak picture. See you for the next User Comment Rodeo (assuming I haven't been rounded up with the other plebes and rendered into Gay Liberal Atheist Abortion Equality Nutrient Paste).
